Villanueva tapestry project : material generated for the project, 1975-1876.

Summary: Collection consists of materials which document the creation of embroidered panels by the women of Villanueva, New Mexico. The panels relate the history and activities of the village and were placed in Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Villanueva. The Villanueva Tapestry Corporation coordinated the project. The folders contain Corporation grant proposal, articles, newspaper clippings, and transcriptions from some of the sound cassettes. Graphic materials include black-and-white negatives and contact sheets made from them depicting ceremonies opening the exhibit; color prints and slides of tapestry panels, the stitchers, and opening events. Sound cassettes contain interviews with stitchers. Photographers were Chester Maydole and Art Taylor.
